This training will be an educational presentation for counselors, family members, nurses, doctors, and anyone else touched by substance use disorders. Topics will be focused on a major issue plaguing many countries; the worst opioid epidemic we have ever seen.This workshop is designed for mental health professionals, AOD counselors, and the general public. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES:
~Explain what opioids are and the etiology of the current epidemic.
~Discuss the next epidemic heading our way.
~Educate why opioid addiction is a specialty within the addiction field.
~Explore the importance of individualized treatment in the realm of opioid addiction.
Curtis Buzanski, LMFT, LAADC has over 20 years experience in the addiction field since getting sober himself in 1996. He has a private practice in Fair Oaks where he specializes in Addiction, Trauma, and other Mental Health Issues; utilizing treatments such as The Comprehensive Resource Model and EMDR. He has taught graduate level courses at University of San Francisco and offers consultation to programs and facilities in the AOD and Mental Health field.
Course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of CE credits.
Curtis Buzanski, LMFT, LAADC (CAMFT Provider #94958) (CCAPP # 1N-18-298-0720) is approved by the CAMFT and CCAPP to sponsor continuing education for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP, RADT, CADC, and LAADC. Curtis Buzanski, LMFT, LAADC maintains responsibility for the program and all its content. Certificates will be awarded upon completion of entire training and turning in Evaluation.
